Templates control the retrieval and sequencing of data. You can create/customise as many templates as desired thereby retrieving just the information you are looking for.

The first time you enter the inventory transaction enquiry, the preloaded “system” template is loaded. This template is predefined with sequences on Item number and Warehouse code. You can either use this template for your selections or you can create your own template(s) for different purposes.

Inventory transaction enquiry templates can be created in two ways:

  • Adding a new template via the Work with inventory transaction enquiry template menu item.
  • Saving your entered selections as a template when working in the Inventory transactions enquiry program.

Once you have selected a template it will follow you through the different enquiry programs. You have, however, the possibility to maintain existing templates or select another template while working in the Inventory transactions enquiry program. The last template you used will be the one defaulted when you enter the enquiry the next time.

The following instructions describe how to create a template according to the first option.

  1. Select the Work with inv trans enquiry templates menu item.
  2. You access Work with inv trans enquiry template. Click Add to create a new template.
  3. You access Work with inv trans enquiry template, which is the first of three panels where you can make your selections and define your sequences. Complete the following fields:
  4. Template
Enter a code that represents the record you are adding. Note: When the template has been created this field cannot be changed.
    Description
Enter a description for the template.

    Selection
Enter the selection parameters you want to include in this template. Selection can be made via range selection or combined selection, depending on the parameter. For more information on how to sequence and select, see Standard functions in DC1.

    Click Next twice.

  5. You access the sequence part of the Work with inv trans enquiry template panel.
  6. The sequence you define determines how the information is presented. Sequence 1 gives the primary sort order, sequence 2 sorts the information further within each selected parameter selected with sequence 1, and so on.

Define the sequence according to your needs and define if the information should be sorted in ascending or descending order.

Caution: Use the Previous/Next buttons to toggle the panels. If you click Back, you return to the initial panel and your recent entries, those which are not saved in the template, are erased.

Click OK to update. Exit the routine.
