Save current panel entries as a template

All the field entries and the panel attributes are saved as a template which can be used whenever required. Note: If you enter a constant value for a field on the payment registration panel and also define an initialisation code on the template attributes panel, then the initialisation code takes priority and the constant value is not saved.

  1. Select the Work with open batches menu item.
  2. On the main panel, select a batch and click Vouchers.
  3. You access Work with vouchers in batch. Select a voucher and click Transactions.
  4. You access Work with transactions in voucher. Select Enter A/R payment from the Function list.
  5. You access Work with transactions in voucher, A/R payment. The field values are defaulted based on the values defined in the active template. The active template name is displayed in the panel heading. You can change the default field values and save the entries as a template. Change the relevant field values and click Save as template.
  6. You access Save as template. Enter information in the following fields:

    Enter the template name. The active template name is defaulted, but can be changed if a new template is to be created.
    Description
    Enter the template description. The active template description is defaulted but can be changed.
    Public
    Set to YES if the template is public meaning it can be accessed by any user. Set to NO if the template is private meaning it is only accessible to the user who created it.

    Click OK. If the template name entered already exists, then a warning message is shown. To overwrite the existing template, click OK. Otherwise, enter a new name and click OK. The newly created template will be used as the active template for the next entry. The template attributes are copied from the active template to the new template. To view the template attributes of the new template, see View panel attributes defined for the active template. Exit the routine.
