Work with demand variation

The following describes how you can work with calculated values for demand variations before you update them in the Item/Warehouse file.

Prerequisites
The Auto adjust demand field in the IC control file must be set to NO.

  1. Follow the instructions in Identify and adjust abnormal demand.
  2. On the second Demand variation list printout/update panel, complete the following additional fields:
    3. Update in work file
    Set to YES to indicate that you want the calculated values to be saved in a work file before they are updated in the system.
    Demand variation ID
    Enter an ID code for the analysis in order to identify the calculated values.
    ID description
    Enter a description of the analysis.

    Enter the applicable print parameters and click OK. A report containing all items that show an abnormal demand in any historical forecast period is printed.

    What to do next?
    You now have the possibility to retrieve the analysis and work with the calculated values.

  3. Select the Work with demand variation menu item.
  4. You access Work with demand variation, Header from where you can delete the complete analysis report or display header details of the analysis. If you click Change, then you can change some of the header details. Select the analysis report that you created in steps 1-2 above and click Details.
  5. You access Work with demand variation, Details showing the items that are included in the analysis. You can delete individual items from the analysis. Select the item you want to work with and click Change.
  6. You access the Line details panel. You can change the following field:
    7. New manual adjust
    Enter a new adjustment value if you want to override the one that was entered in the Demand variation list printout/update routine before you finally update the values in the Item/Warehouse file.

    Click OK if you have made any changes. The system updates the analysis in the work file.

  7. Return to the initial Header panel and select the analysis that you have changed. Click Update.
  8. You access Work with demand variation, Update showing the analysis that you selected. Enter the applicable printing parameters and click OK to update. The system prints the analysis report and now updates the Item/Warehouse file with the new calculated values. At the same time, the analysis report is being removed from the work file. Exit the routine.
