Generate forecast details

Note: The sales promotion must be connected to item related keys. If you want to simulate the forecast and the calculation without generating any new records in the system, you can do this through the Forecast simulation program and the Forecast calculation simulation program.

  1. Select the Work with sales promotions menu item.
  2. On the main panel, select the applicable sales promotion and click Forecast det.
  3. On the Forecast details panel, click Generate forecast details.
  4. You access Generate forecast details. When you generate the estimated forecast values the first time, you have two options:
    • You can either define the estimated increase/decrease values in percentage, or
    • by entering a quantity.

    When records have been created for the sales promotion you can no longer change the selected type of definition. For example, when changes are made to a sales promotion defined with percentage estimates you will only be able to maintain the percentage values. Complete one of the following fields:

    Estimated % increase
    Enter the new estimated increase/decrease percentage (+ or -) by which the forecast should be adjusted. The calculated forecast will be adjusted by the percentage in this field.
    Estimated qty inc
    Enter the new estimated increase/decrease quantity (+ or -) by which the forecast should be adjusted. The calculated forecast will be adjusted by the quantity in this field.

Click OK. Exit the routine.
