Run the job schedule batch program

This program checks what jobs need to be run in the DC1 Inventory Control system for the current forecast period. When the batch job has been executed, the jobs that need to be run are displayed in the Job schedule file. See section Job schedule batch processes for detailed information about what fields are updated and what controls are made when the batch job is executed.

Note: This batch program should be run once every day. You can do this manually or set it up to run automatically through the DC1 Job control or via the iSeries Job schedule function.

Note: It is recommended that you run the Start job schedule batch directly after system installation. For more information about system installation, see Setting up DC1 Inventory Control.

  1. Select the Start job schedule batch menu item.
  2. You access Job schedule batch start. Click OK to execute the routine in batch or press F2 to run the job interactively. This program does not start the jobs automatically. It signals that a job should be executed by creating records in the Job schedule file. Each record tells you that a certain job needs to be run. See Execute a job in the Job schedule file for further instructions.
