Work with a slow moving stock analysis

The following describes how you can work with calculated values for slow movers before you update them in the Item/Warehouse file.

  1. Follow the instructions in Identify and update slow moving stock.
  2. On the Slow moving stock list printout/update panel, section New override values, complete the following additional fields:

    Set to YES to indicate that you want to update the created report in a work file in order to analyse the result before updating the system.
    Slow moving stock ID
    Enter an ID code for the analysis in order to identify the calculated values.
    ID description
    Enter a description of the analysis.

    Enter the applicable print parameters and click OK. The manual override values are printed on the Slow moving stock analysis report.

    What to do next?
    You now have the possibility to retrieve the analysis and work with the calculated values.

  3. Select the Work with slow moving stock menu item.
  4. You access Work with slow moving stock ID. From this panel, you can delete the complete analysis report or display the header details of the analysis. If you click Change, then you can change some of the header details. Select the analysis report that you created in steps 1-2 above and click Details.
  5. You access Work with slow moving stock ID, Details. This panel displays the items that are included in the analysis. You can delete individual items from the analysis. Select the item you want to work with and click Change.
  6. You access the Line details panel. For each of the manual fields that were completed in the Slow moving stock list printout/update routine (steps 1-2), this panel displays the values that were entered. You can change the values, or you can enter new override values in the fields that are blank.

    7. Click OK. The system updates the analysis in the work file.

  7. Return to the initial Header panel and select the analysis that you have changed. Click Update.
  8. You access Work with slow moving stock ID, Update showing the analysis you selected. Enter the applicable printing parameters and click OK to update.
  9. The system prints the analysis report and now updates the Item/Warehouse file with the new calculated values. At the same time, the analysis report is being removed from the work file. Exit the routine.
