Define quality control values for an item structure

What this document contains

The quality control, which is based on the conformity group that is connected to the item, can be performed either during operation reporting or product reception. In the item structure you can specify if, where and when the control should be performed. This can be specified either on structure header level or from the bill of routing. The values defined for the structure header are applicable for all operations connected to the structure. If different quality control values are defined for a specific operation, these will override the values entered for the structure header.

For information about the quality control routine, see About quality control reporting for manufacturing orders.

Note: The quality control fields are only displayed if the MQC_REC and/or MQ_OPER function controls are activated. The information that is entered on operation level will override the quality control information that is entered on structure header level.

Define quality control values on the item structure header

  1. Select the Work with structures menu item.
  2. On the initial panel, select the item structure for which you want to define quality control values and click Change.
  3. You access Work with structures, Structure header. Define if and how often the quality control should be performed in operation reporting and/or reception by completing the quality control definition fields below.
  4. Note: Apart from the QC always field, which is mandatory, only one of the quality control definition fields may be completed per column (Operation/Reception).

    QC always
Mandatory entry. Indicate if a quality control always should be performed during manufacturing operation reporting and/or reception. Note: If this field is set to NO and a quality control interval is defined in one of the quality definition fields below, the quality control will be performed according to the specified interval.
    QC interval days
Enter the number of days that must pass before the next quality control is performed. The next quality control date is calculated by using the calendar defined in the MFG control file.
    QC interval time
This field is only valid for operation reporting. Enter the number of reported hours that must pass before the next quality control is performed. The quality control first checks the machine time, and if no machine time is entered the run/labour time is used. Note: If a time interval is defined on operation level, that value will override the time interval entered on header level.
    QC interval rep/rec
Enter the number of reported operations or received manufacturing orders that must be handled before the next quality control is performed.
    QC interval qty
Enter the quantity in stock unit that must be reported or received before the next quality control is performed.
    Maintenance option
Select the No maintenance option. The information you have entered on this panel will be saved and you will exit the structure routine.

Click OK to update the quality control information for the structure header. Exit the routine.

See Define conformity criteria for an item structure for information about how to activate conformity criteria.
