Activate future work centre prices

For each work centre, it is possible to define hourly price information used for product costing (basic data) and manufacturing orders (pre-calculation and cost control). The hourly prices are defined as standard prices and actual prices.

Overhead is an amount that is added to the total production cost of the work centre. It can be divided into two parts and specified as a percentage of the total cost and/or a fixed amount that is added to the cost.

You can also specify future prices for the work centre that will come into effect on a certain date. When you activate the specified prices, the future prices and overheads are moved to the active (operational) prices and overheads.

The future prices are defined on the Work centre maintenance panel, and the From date field on the same panel defines when the entered future prices will come into effect.

Future work centre prices can be activated in two ways:

  • You can activate the future prices for a specific work centre using the Activate prices function key on the Work centre maintenance (BAS004C) panel.
  • You can activate the future prices for several work centres using the Activate future work centre prices (WORKC_MOVP) batch job.

This following illustrates how to activate the future prices using the batch job.

  1. Select the Work with reports/jobs – MFG Basic data menu item.
  2. You access Work with batch jobs. Select WORKC_MOVP and click Submit job.
  3. You access Activate future work centre prices. Complete the following field:
  4. Date to
Enter the last date to which future work centre prices will be activated. The date is compared with From date on the Work centre maintenance panel. Future prices with a from date that is earlier than or equal to the date entered in this field will be moved to the active price fields.

Tip: Use the selection fields on this panel to narrow down the selection of work centres or department sections for which future prices should be activated.

Click OK. The system moves the future prices and overheads to the active price fields for the selected work centres. Exit the routine.
