This batch job can be used either when you create capacity for new work centres, or when you re-create capacity for existing work centres. Using this batch job you create capacity for all work centres for a selected period of time. Apart from creating work centre capacity, you can also create workload and re-schedule manufacturing orders.

Note: You can also create work centre capacity by clicking the Re-create capacity function key on the Work centre capacity maintenance panel. See Change the capacity for a work centre and Change the work centre parameters.

  1. Select the Work with reports/jobs – MFG orders menu item.
  2. You access Work with batch jobs. Select CALEND_CAP and click Submit job.
  3. You access Create work centre capacity. Complete the following fields:
  4. Create no of month
Enter the number of months to be valid in the calendar capacity. The current month is the first month for which capacity will be created.
    Re-create workload Y/N
Indicate if workload for open manufacturing orders should be re-created. For this example, set this field to NO. See Re-create workload for more information.
    Re-create MRP workload Y/N
Indicate if planned workload for MRP order proposals should be re-created. For this example, set this field to NO. See Re-create workload for more information.
    Force forward sched
Mandatory entry if Reschedule manuf ord is set to 2 (All open orders) or 3 (Only not started orders). Indicate if forward re-scheduling should be forced for all selected open manufacturing orders even if backward re-scheduling was originally planned:
    • If you set this field to YES, the manufacturing orders will be re-scheduled based on the planned start date.
    • If you set this field to NO, the re-scheduling of the manufacturing orders will be handled in the same way as at the order creation. For example, if an order was scheduled backwards at creation, the same type of re-scheduling will be applied here.
Note: When the re-scheduling is completed, you can run the Re-plan sales orders functionality in DC1 Distribution to perform an availability check on purchased components and sub-assembly items. New availability dates will be calculated for the items, and this will result in new completion and dispatch dates for the manufacturing and sales orders. (See About re-planning sales orders for more information).

Click OK. The system creates capacity for all work centres within the selected months. Exit the routine.
