Receive BtB surplus quantity from a manufacturing order

Note: The manufacturing order must be connected to a sales order. See About creating manufacturing orders from other routines than manufacturing order entry for information about how to create manufacturing orders from the Sales routine.

This function is only used if the total received quantity exceeds the quantity on the sales order line. The surplus quantity can either be received into normal or transit stock:

  • If reception to normal stock is selected, the received quantity will not be allocated to the sales order.
  • If reception to transit stock is selected, the quantity will be allocated to the sales order line. If the transit quantity should be available for other sales orders, a stock movement from transit stock to normal stock must be made. The stock movement can be accessed from the Inventory transaction selection panel.
  1. Select the Issue/receive manufacturing order menu item.
  2. You access Inventory transaction selection, Manufacturing order. Select the manufacturing order you want to receive and click Reception.
  3. You access Manufacturing order reception. Complete the following fields:
  4. Approved qty
    Enter the approved quantity in stock unit. For this example, enter a quantity that is higher than the order quantity (surplus quantity).
    Complete
    Indicate if this is the last reception that is made on the manufacturing order. If you set this field to YES, the manufacturing order will be closed (order status is set to 60) and all reservation and workload will be removed.
    Rec date
    Indicates the date when the reception is made.
    Stock unit
    Indicate if the quantity is entered in stock unit (YES) or structure unit (NO).

    Click OK. You will receive a warning that the total quantity is higher than the order quantity. Click OK again.

  5. You access Reception of BtB surplus quantity. Complete the following field:
  6. Put to normal stock
    Set this field to YES if the surplus quantity should be put into normal stock, or NO if it should be put into transit stock.
    Note: The received quantity will only be allocated to the sales order line if reception to transit stock is selected.

    Click OK.

  7. You return to Inventory transaction selection, Manufacturing order displaying both the ordered quantity and the produced quantity that has now been reported/received. Exit the routine.
