Add operations to the project element structure

By adding operations to the existing project structure you create a unique item structure to be used for the project/quotation when manufacturing orders are created from the element line.

  1. Select the Work with projects menu item.
  2. You access Work with project orders. Select the project you want to work with and click Details.
  3. You access Phase maintenance. Select the phase to which you want to add a structure and click Elements. (Tip: You can also access the element level of the project by clicking the Level function key on the initial Work with project orders panel and then selecting the Element level).
  4. You access Phase element maintenance. Select the element line to which you want to add operations and click Struct.
  5. You access Structure maintenance where you have to specify if you start maintenance of materials or operations. Complete the following selection field:

    Indicate what type of structure maintenance is to be performed by ticking one of the following: Material, Operations or Copy.

    For this task, tick Operations and click OK.

  7. You access Operations maintenance, Op times in minutes (decimal). Click Add to add a new operation to the structure. (Note: If no operations exist for the item structure you will access add mode directly).
  8. On the Operations maintenance, Op times in minutes (decimal) detail panel, complete the following fields:

    Enter the operation number with intervals allowing the possibility of inserting new operations between the existing ones.
    Description
    Enter a short description of the operation. It is also possible to link extra operation text to each operation. If it is left blank the work centre description will be used.
    Work centre
    Enter the work centre where the operation will be performed.
    Run and labour time
    Enter the run and labour time in hours for the operation. Note: You can enter several operation structure records at the same time.

    Click OK to confirm the update of the project structure the return to the previous panel that displays all included operations in the structure. You have several options on this panel. You can:

    • Select an operation record and click Change to maintain detailed information.
    • Select an operation record and click Delete to remove it from the project structure.
    • Select an operation record and click Text to add extra operation text to it.
    • Click This level material to go to Material structure maintenance for this level.

For this task, click OK to update the project structure. Exit the routine.
