Create a database file of the report

Creating a database file of the information in the report could be useful if you want to import the report into, e.g. Excel, to further process the data.

  1. Follow the instructions in Print a report on paper (step 6) with the following exception on the Work with reports, Print selection panel:
  2. Create work file
    Set to YES to create a database file.
    Library/File name
    In the first field, enter the name of the library where you want to store the database file. If you do not have a library of your own, then you can, e.g., use the General Purpose Library called QGPL, which is delivered with all iSeries.
    In the second field you enter the name of the database file.

    Click OK. Exit the routine.
