Creating a database file of the information in the report could be useful if you want to import the report into, e.g. Excel, to further process the data.
- Follow the instructions in Print a report on paper (step 6) with the following exception on the Work with reports, Print selection panel:
- Create work file
- Set to YES to create a database file.
- Library/File name
- In the first field, enter the name of the library where you want to store the database file. If you do not have a library of your own, then you can, e.g., use the General Purpose Library called QGPL, which is delivered with all iSeries.
- In the second field you enter the name of the database file.
Click OK. Exit the routine.
