Enter a service order quotation

Note: The service quotation entry routine is similar to the sales quotation routine and performed within the same program. For further information about the Work with sales/service quotations programs, see About sales quotations.

  1. Select the Work with sales quotations menu item.
  2. On the main panel, click Add.
  3. You access Sales quotation maintenance where you set up the basic data for a service order quotation. Complete the following fields:
  4. Handler
    Quotation type
    Enter 3 (service quotation).
    Customer number
    Expiry date
    Enter the final date for which the current quotation should be valid.

    Click OK.

  5. You access Sales quotation maintenance, Service quotation job. Click Add.
  6. You access Service quotation job header. Complete the following fields:
  7. Job
    The next available job is retrieved, but can be changed.
    Req SVC time
    Enter the required service time for the job.
    Job priority
    The job priority is defaulted from the Sales order type table, but can be changed. Enter a value 1 through 9, indicating the priority of the job.

    Click OK.

  8. You access Sales quotation maintenance, Quotation line entry. Complete the following fields:
  9. Item
    Enter the item.
    Quantity
    Enter the quantity.
    Price
    The price is retrieved from the Item file. If it is not defined in that file, it must be entered here.

    Click OK.

  10. The system updates the Quotation line entry panel with the data you entered together with the line number and the price of the line. Enter as many lines as required.
  11. The next step would be to copy the entered quotation to a service order. If you want to do this immediately, click Copy to SO while on this panel and then follow the instructions in Copy a quotation to a service order. Otherwise, exit the routine.
