Reporting time in DC1 Service

Related topics

There are four types of time reporting:

  • Adding time transactions directly to the order in the Service order entry routine. (This method is not covered here).
  • Adding time transactions directly to the order for several engineers who have been working on the same job. (This method is described in Add time transactions to a service order).
  • Using the time reporting function with service items, which prompts the system to automatically calculate normal time, overtime, and so on.
  • Using the time reporting function with service items where the user is prompted to enter the number of hours spent on the different operations.

The latter three methods provide for the possibility to follow up the time spent by an engineer using the Time follow-up enquiry or the Time follow-up list.

Note: Service items are entered in the Item file as fictitious items.
