The following describes how to join and quit a work group at group manufacturing reporting. When using group reporting the start and stop of operations are reported for the group, i.e., when one member of a group reports start or stop of an operation, transactions are created for all members of the group. Both reporting against a single operation and a consolidated order is covered.
Prerequisites
The Report manufacturing field must be set to YES in Work with personnel, on the Employee maintenance panel.
Create work group
Creating a work group is done via the Work with work groups menu item or by selecting the Create work group option on the Group manufacturing reporting panel. You cannot add or remove a member if the group has work ongoing or the employee belongs to another group, which has work ongoing.
Clock in and out
If an operation should continue from one day to another it is not necessary to stop the operation at the end of the day and start it again the next. The transaction will be created automatically. You only need to clock out at the end of the day and in the following day.
Start
A group member who has started an operation or other activity outside the group will be removed from the group when a start is reported for that group.
Stop
When stop is reported for the group a stop is created for all members that are present.
Join a work group
This function is not allowed if:
- the employee is the last member of a work group that has work ongoing, i.e., the group has started but not stopped an operation.
- the employee has work ongoing outside the group. In these cases the ongoing work must be stopped before the employee can join the new group.
If it is allowed to join the group, then the following happens:
- If the employee has work ongoing for another group a stop will be created for that work.
- The employee will be added to the new group and, if member of another group, removed from the old group.
- If the employee is present (clocked in) and the new group has work ongoing a start is created for the employee in the new group.
