The reorganisation program will summarise the transactions that are stored with the same inventory event code, transaction type, item code and/or warehouse, within the selected time period and add them together.
This reorganisation should be done from time to time to ensure that the Location transaction file does not become too large, as all the location transactions that are created within the system are stored in this file.
The user may choose to perform summarisation of the transactions that have not previously been summarised and/or for those that have previously been summarised. A deletion of summarised transactions with a date equal to or less than the date entered may also be performed.
Note: For batch-controlled items, location transactions cannot be deleted/summarised if the batch exists in the Batch file. When the batch is deleted, a code on the corresponding inventory transaction(s) is automatically set to NO, indicating that the batch does not exist. After that, the location transaction(s) can be deleted.
Caution: For items for which an ABC analysis should be obtained, it is important that a deletion is never performed of the summarised records, as these records contain the total quantity for those transaction types.
Enquiries and printouts
- Warehouse location transaction enquiry – displays the summarised records.
- Location balance integrity report – gives the opportunity to create a report that displays the differences between DC1 Distribution and DC1 Warehouse Management for the stock categories On hand, Quality control, Usable NCC and Unusable NCC. It is possible to print the report showing all items or just items where differences were found.
