Assign a location to an instruction

The following describes how to assign a location to a batch. This is done if the system cannot find a location for a pick suggestion. The location can be missing for the pick suggestion in the following cases:

  • The balance is available in DC1 Distribution, but not in DC1 Warehouse Management due to ongoing activities such as replenishment and put away.
  • The balance is in a receiving location, i.e. a location that is not used for picking.
  • The sales order type has dispatch code 4 (no dispatch requirements) and there is not enough balance in the warehouse.
  1. Select the Work with R/F instructions menu item. Note: If Radio Frequency Handling is not activated in the main warehouse, then you access the Warehouse selection where you select the applicable warehouse to work with.
  2. You access Work with R/F instructions, Open batches. Click Create shipments.
  3. On the Work with R/F instructions, Select shipments panel, click Non assigned loc.
  4. You access Work with R/F instructions, Non assigned locations. Select the record for which you want to add a missing location and click Change.
  5. You access Work with R/F instructions, Assign location. Complete the following fields:
  6. Zone/location
    Enter a zone and a location to be assigned to this pick suggestion.
    Pallet number
    For pallet items, enter a pallet number to be assigned to this pick suggestion.

    Click OK.

  7. You return to Work with R/F instructions, Non assigned locations. When a zone and a location have been assigned to the pick suggestion, the updated line is no longer shown on this panel. The updated pick suggestions will be displayed on the Work with R/F instructions, Select shipments panel where they can be selected for R/F batch creation. Exit the routine.
